Keihan Holdings wants to invest in Yumeshima IR

Keihan Holdings President Masahiro Ishimaru has revealed that his firm would be interested in participating as an investor in the Yumeshima IR, though on a modest scale.

“The IR is a project to improve the Kansai, and so investment in it can be explained to shareholders,” Ishimaru told the Sankei Shinbun.

However, he also noted that Keihan would be seeking only a small share of ownership, not exceeding 1 percent, and not including the management of key facilities.

Ishimaru became president of Keihan in May, and one of the major projects he is considering is to extend the Keihan Nakanoshima Line in order to create a direct railway link between Yumeshima and the ancient capital of Kyoto.
