As a penalty for the acts of its previous casino management, Jeju Sun has been forced to suspend its gaming operations for one month by the Jeju Island gaming regulator, CRD.
Bloomberry Resorts, the majority owner of the casino, said in a filing that the decision was the result of the CRD’s investigation into the gaming tax payment practices of the casino then known as “LVegas Casino” under its old management and owners.
The casino is now under the new management of Bloomberry Resorts Corp. after its subsidiary Solaire Korea Co. Ltd. acquired control.
“Jeju Sun will use this one month period of suspension to pursue and complete its renovation and upgrade of its gaming floors and facilities, and to expand its ballroom,” the filing said.
The suspension will start on November 16 and will end on December 15. The Jeju Sun Casino will open its upgraded and expanded facilities for business on December 16 in time for the winter holidays peak season.
The hotel operation is not affected by the one month suspension.
