Ganapati plans to release a Manny Pacquiao-themed slot game in September this year, with proceeds to be channelled to the legendary boxer’s foundation, which supports children’s education in the Philippines.
The game will feature imagery of Pacquiao inspired by his infamous boxing talent. Ganapati, which aims to bring Japanese culture to global gaming, said the deal will highlight the longstanding mutually supportive relations between Japan and the Philippines, as well as give back to the local Filipino community.
Pacquiao was elected to the Philippine Senate in 2016 and has firmly established himself as a leading figure in politics, alongside his long-standing role as the “People’s Champion”.
This announcement coincides with Manny Pacquiao’s return to the ring against Keith Thurman in Las Vegas on 20th July.
“This opportunity is extremely exciting for us as it represents Ganapati’s considerable growth within the industry,” said Juliet Adelstein, CEO of Ganapati Europe. “We’re delighted to be involved in this project with the octuple champion Manny Pacquiao – a true global superstar. It is wonderful to know the extent to which Ganapati is now being recognised in the industry.”
Hayato Terai, CLO of Ganapati PLC and Ganapati Malta, said Pacquiao was renowned for facing his opponents without fear.
“Manny Pacquiao is the most successful and respected athlete in Asia and an incredibly skilled and determined politician. It is an honour to be able to produce his official game.”
