Chief advisor of Tiger Resorts charged with perjury

A top official at Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment (TRLEI) has been accused of making false statements in a fraud complaint filed in late 2017.

Tetsuya Yokota, president of Aruze Philippines Manufacturing, Inc. (APMI) has filed three counts of perjury against Dindo Espeleta, chief executive advisor of Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment, Inc. (TRLEI), alleging that Espeleta made false statements related to the supply of $4.5 million of LED strip lights for Okada Manila.

It appears that Espeleta, in the 2017 fraud complaint, said that Yokota claimed his company would manufacture the LED strips in-house, while instead, they were supplied by J&J Philippines Corporation.

This complaint was dismissed on May 18 for by Parañaque City prosecutors for lack of probable cause.

This however, did not stop Yokata from filing his own complaint against Espeleta for allegedly making false assertions against his company.

In his affidavit, Yokata referred to email statements clearly showing that he and Espeleta both knew that some components of the LED projects would be sourced from outside corporations other than APMI.

Yokata also added that the supply agreement between the two companies indicated that APMI would only “supply the LED lights” and not manufacture them entirely.

Yokota said the TRLEI executive “willfully and deliberately made assertions of falsehoods” as “the truth of the matter is that from the beginning, TRLEI was aware that some components of the LED products would be sourced from corporations other than APMI.”
