It’s time for The Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) to re-evaluate its tourism policy to decide whether it really wants a casino industry after the “mess” created by Imperial Pacific International, says Democratic Party legislator Tina Sablan.

Authorities in the CNMI are considering a proposal for two gaming licenses for the island of Saipan if Imperial Pacific International’s monopoly permit is revoked. Tina Sablan, vice-chair of the House Gaming Committee said there is a high chance this will happen.

CNMI lawmaker Rep. Tina Sablan wants further investigation into the prospect of allowing online gaming in the CNMI, citing concerns it could open the island up to money laundering.
