Casinos Austria International Japan on Friday released further details of its Nagasaki Integrated Resort to be developed alongside the Dutch-themed Huis Ten Bosch park. 

Japan's Nagasaki prefecture has signed a master agreement for an IR with Casinos Austria, which it says will revitalize the local economy.

Casinos Austria, which was named as the bidding partner for an IR in Nagasaki, has outlined its plans, which include 2,200 slot machines and 220 table games.

The Nagasaki prefecture has chosen Casinos Austria as its priority bidding partner for an IR license, beating two other contenders.

Nagasaki authorities have announced that it has narrowed the field of bidders for a license down to three, choosing Casinos Austria, Oshidori Group and NIKI Chau Fwu.

Casinos Austria Japan is the local subordinate of Casinos Austria International. It is headed by CEO Akio Hayashi. 

Japan's tourism ministry has shot down the plans for an integrated resort in Nagasaki, over financing concerns. The Casinos Austria-led project, under review by the government since April of 2022, was the only other IR projected after authorities gave approval for the MGM-Orix IR project in Osaka. The move means Osaka will likely be the only IR to operate in the country for the foreseeable future.

The Nagasaki Prefecture began soliciting opinions on its proposal to construct an integrated resort in the city amidst concerns over the ability of its chosen partner - Casinos Austria - to raise the Y350 billion ($3.1 billion) in project costs.

Nagasaki is now the latest prefecture to announce its chosen IR partner - Casinos Austria.

The Nagasaki Prefectural Government has confirmed that five consortiums are in the race to become their partners in a licensing bid. The five have been named as Casinos Austria Japan, Current Group, Niki Chau Fwu (Parkview), One Kyushu (TTL Resorts), and the Oshidori consortium.
