Nearly 75 percent of junkets in Macau remain inactive under the new junket operation model that started on January 1st, 2023, says the Macau Responsible Gaming Assocation head, Billy Song.

According to Nelson Kot, the president of the Macau Comprehensive Social Research Association, Macau's gaming operators have been discussing actively with licensed junkets, aiming to boost the VIP revenue rebound.

Macau's satellite casinos used to be touristic attractions in the city. The problem is that not so many gamblers are going to play there now.

All satellite casinos will be disqualified from issuing gaming credit according to the new bill on casino concessionaire- and junket-issued credit for gambling. 

Several academics and gaming associations have voiced concerns over the latest public consultation report of the new Macau gaming law, particularly concerning the license grant period and the role of the government representative.
