The visitor arrivals in Macau have surged some 49.36 percent month-on-month in July as the city welcomed some 789,407 visitors.

The figure is a near 10-time increase from the same month of 2020, but a far call from the 3.5 million visitors welcomed July of 2019.

Visitors from Mainland China totalled 724,342, a 53 percent increase from the previous month, with nearly 294,000 of them entering under the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS).

Despite the border restrictions imposed because of the outbreaks in Mainland China, gaming revenue rose nearly 30 percent month-on-month, topping MOP8.44 billion.
