Visitor arrivals to Macau up 5.4 pct in 2017: MGTO

The Macau SAR saw total visitor arrivals grow 5.4 percent in 2017, reaching 32.6 million, said the head of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes on Wednesday, reports Macau News.

Visitors from Korea ranked first among international markets, with over 870,000 visitors arriving to Macau in the year. Japan, Philippines and Indonesia also clocked single-digit growth in 2017.

Fernandes also noted that overnight-stay visitors surged 9.9 percent in the year, accounting for 52.9 percent of total visitor arrivals.
