Grand Lisboa sponsors Dota 2 esports tournament

The Grand Lisboa Hotel was the title sponsor of a recent Dota 2 tournament held in Macau, held on December 8, 2017.

This is the first international eSports competition held in Macau, with nine teams of contestants coming from around the world.

The three-day event schedule comprised the single-round tournaments (with BO1) held on 8 and 9 December, with the top four teams entering the semifinal (with BO3) on 10 December. The event also brought together eSports celebrities, along with hip-hop star Gosh from Chongqing of China, NBA basketball star Jeremy Lin, and Mario Ho, creating a top-notch eSports and entertainment extravaganza.

Dr. Ambrose So, chairman of the board of directors of SJM said, “MDL Macau Dota2 International Elite Invitational is held in Macau for the first time, and Grand Lisboa Hotel as a landmark of Macau is pleased to offer our support.  eSports is an emerging industry with huge growth potential and global viewership.  Macau is put in the limelight with this major eSports tournament, which we believe will further benefit the development of the city’s tourism and leisure business.”
