Delta Corp notes robust Q2 results

India casino operator Delta Corp saw its net profit surge 34.1 percent in the second quarter ending September 30, 2017, according to an announcement from the company on Monday.

Revenue reached Rs. 189 crores (US$29.1 million), registering 40 percent growth year-on-year, while net profit stood at Rs. 43 crores.

Delta Corp said its foray into the online gaming sector helped it in gaining a strong foothold.

“Online gaming has outstanding potential and has given an opportunity to the company to have a diverse clientele across new demographics,” said the company in a filing.

“The results witness a steady growth and shown stellar financial performance,” said Delta Corp chairman Jaydev Mody. “The new Gaming Policy proposed by the state of Goa is expected to bring positive changes which will be positive for the industry at large and will offer the required impetus to Delta,” he added.
